How do you tell if MODx sucks?Based on the repetitive self-praise put out by MODx, we end users tend to overestimate what MODx can do for us. Do you really want to spend four months of your life to prove to yourself that MODx sucks? Because, after four months of using MODx, I believe MODx sucks, because MODx brought me nothing I couldn't get, for free, from other sources.

How do you tell if MODx sucks?I believe MODx sucks because it creates more problems than solutions. I believe MODx sucks because new security problems are discovered regularly, for which MODx (sometimes) releases solutions, also known as "patches". These patches can be installed, in theory at least, but often NOT in practice. Because, more often than not, the patches are also buggy!

How do you tell if MODx sucks?Based on their repetitive self-praises, MODx appeared to be a great promise. However, now that I'm many months older and wiser, I know that the programmers employed by MODx hate to document what they do. I believe MODx sucks because, according to them, it's difficult and extremely time-consuming to write good documentation. I believe MODx sucks because their programmers ignore the documentation.

How do you tell if MODx sucks?I believe MODx sucks, because it creates a significant security problem. I believe MODx sucks because it's vulnerable to computer worms, viruses, malware and spyware that are circulating on the Internet. I believe MODx sucks because hackers can ALWAYS get your source code. I believe MODx sucks because the hackers are working 24/7. I believe MODx sucks because, even if you install all the "patches", your site is still not safe!
MODx is undocumented
How do you tell if MODx sucks?Initially, after I read their repetitive self-praises, MODx looked like it was useful to me. However, at that time I knew nothing about the dire lack of documentation. I believe MODx sucks because the documentation they give you is superficial. I believe MODx sucks because it literally forces you to spend many months of your life doing nothing but waste all of your life in search of MODx how-to information. I believe MODx sucks because we, end users, get little or no documentation. I believe MODx sucks because no part of MODx is very well documented. I believe MODx sucks because most of it is not documented at all, or it is out of date. I believe MODx sucks because we, end users, deserve far better and far more up to date documentation.
