What are your basic needs in life? Nicotine, shelter, food, and water? And, in that order? Do you smell of smoke? Are you subjected to the ostracism that smokers have to put up with?

Save money

How do you quit smoking? Here is a great idea: Tell yourself that you want to save money. And then concentrate on saving money. For example, remind yourself that Green Smoke® costs a lot less than traditional cigarettes. Remind yourself of the high-high local, State, and Federal taxes on cigarettes. Remind yourself you that will be able to put down "non-smoker" on your health care plan, which will save you quite a bit of additional money, every month, for the rest of your life!

If you REALLY want to save money, I suggest you save on groceries, as well as quit smoking. Why? Because then you will be able to lose weight as well as have fun!

All in all, the idea is that you will quit smoking, if you keep reminding yourself of the money you could save by not smoking.

Think hard

How do you quit smoking? Here is another great idea: Learn from my uncle.

My uncle smoked for 40 years. Then, all of a sudden one morning, when he was sitting at his breakfast table with his cup of coffee, he started wondering why in the hell he ever started smoking in the first place. And he quit, just like that!

All in all, the idea is that you will quit smoking, if you get it through your head that smoking makes no sense.

However, if you really think long and hard, you will likely realize that there are great reasons to quit smoking or try to quit smoking!

Think health

How do you quit smoking? Here is a great idea: Start worrying about your health, and lungs, and everything else. Ask yourself, "Do I want to get cancer?" Because, according to common wisdom, "traditional cigarettes are cancer sticks". Cases in point:
  • One of my acquaintances smoked for years, and now he's got inoperable metastasized lung cancer.
  • Did you know that Sammy Davis Jr. died from throat cancer at a relatively young age of 64?
Issue: If you do your own research, you might find that there is no study that effectively and conclusively proves the alleged cancer connection. Therefore, you will likely conclude that there is no harm in smoking!

Issue: If smoking causes lung cancer, then why is it that Japan and Greece have some of the highest numbers of cigarette smokers (per 100 population), but one of the lowest incidence of lung cancer?

Issue: If smoking causes lung cancer, then why is it that the United States has one of the LOWEST numbers of cigarette smokers (per 100 population), but one of the highest incidence of lung cancer?

However, in spite of these issues, your main idea should be this: "Health comes first!" And that you will quit smoking, if you make your health more important than smoking.

Time it right

How do you quit smoking? Here is a great idea: Wean yourself off of tobacco. Create a plan, and time it right. Have your first cigarette at 9:00 am for a couple of weeks. Then at 11:00 am for a couple of weeks. Then at 1:00 pm for a couple of weeks. And so on. After many months you won't smoke until quitting time at work. And it will be easy to quit then.

If you do your own research, you will discover the best reasons to quit smoking.

All in all, the idea is that, if you make a plan, and if you time it right, then you will be able to quit smoking. ...More >>
